ISA Amarcord 86: The Next Chapter in Superyacht Design

ISA Yachts, part of the Palumbo Superyachts group, has unveiled Amarcord 86, the second vessel in the ISA Large Yacht Collection. At the core of the collection is an engineering platform that can be tailored to the future owner. The shipyard sees this approach as a way to create truly unique yachts shaped by the owner's lifestyle, preferences and vision - rather than offering a fixed set of layouts.

Amarcord 86 demonstrates how this concept works in practice. The spacious yacht is designed so that each deck has its own distinct character and purpose. Working with architecture studio Nuvolari Lenard, the shipyard built the project around a simple but rare principle: every deck offers its own scenario of use, yet all spaces are bound together by a single architectural logic.

The yacht's exterior blends an elegant, almost classic hull with soft, flowing superstructure lines. Expansive glazing and visual continuity between decks make the silhouette light and dynamic.

Space as a Scenario

The character of Amarcord 86 reveals itself most vividly in the way space is organised. The aft platform forms a full fledged relaxation area right at the water's edge, with two folding bulwarks extending its surface. From here, a glass corridor running through the engine room leads to a massage room and a gym with sea views. The technical heart of the yacht, normally hidden from sight, becomes part of the architectural experience - a bold and memorable solution.

On the main deck, the focal point is the lounge area and a panoramic swimming pool with a glass bottom. Light filters through it into the beach club located one level below.

Architecting Privacy at Grand Scale

The upper deck is dedicated to the owner. The apartment of over 100 m² is conceived as a full scale residence with a spacious aft terrace and access to the foredeck. It houses a private spa area, a sundeck and a touch-and-go helipad.

The bridge deck is designed for evening entertainment. The dining area and an open lounge with a fire pit create a space for sunset gatherings. A teppanyaki grill bar and a pool with sun loungers turn the sundeck into a full scale social hub under the open sky. Five guest cabins are located on the main deck while the sixth guest cabin and 11 crew cabins are on the lower deck.

In this way, Amarcord 86 reinterprets the modern superyacht through a sequence of impressions, where architecture, functionality and style together shape a new dimension of life at sea. The ISA Large Yacht Collection serves as an open creative platform, capable of producing entirely different yachts tailored to the personality, needs and the owner's own way of feeling the sea.
